This is a compact turnout control that is self latching. I made this to use with my hand built N scale turnouts. It is about the same footprint as the popular Caboose Hobbies ground throw, but about half the height. Added a second narrow style base - better to fit between parallel tracks.
01-03-2017 Moved model into Tinkercad to make revisions easier. Resized pivot peg for more strength. Resized & relocated several holes for better fit. All parts in a single file. Separate objects to remove the base option you will not use.
03-24-2017 Added individual files for each part.

Print instructions

Category: DIY Print Settings

Printer: Original Prusa i3 MK2

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: .200 or .150 layers

Infill: 25% - 30%

Notes:

You will need a well adjusted machine for these tiny parts - especially to get the holes and the pivot peg to print. You may need a 1/16" drill for the pivot hole in the rocker and the cap, and a 1/32" drill for the tiny hole in the rocker arm for the control wire.
The cap will dovetail onto the base, but I recommend a tiny amount of CA glue around the dovetail to keep the cap secure.

Post-Printing

Parts assembled - cap glued

Handle flipped to other position

Underside - showing indexing arms and pivot peg support

How I Designed This

Developed the design in Sketchup and my 3D printer, starting with the original design of how to build a latching lever, then optimizing the base for support and clearances to get the tension right.
