Swing Back Cleat For Rear Facing Sun Pad Seat Back

Swing Back Cleat For Rear Facing Sun Pad Seat Back

thingiverse

This design is for an installable cleat bracket that enables a convertible seat / sunpad on some boats to be able to hold the seat back in a "rear-facing" orientation so guests can sit facing the rear of the boat when at anchor. Not to be used when underway. The files provided have the cleat (you will need to print this twice) and the left and right brackets. These can be printed with no supports (which I would recommend) and can be printed in PLA. I print at 100% infill to get maximum strength and durability. To assemble the parts, you will need to provide two #10 x 1-1/2" Machine Screws with nuts to work as the pivot axle for the cleat. I recommend nuts with nylon inserts to ensure the part doesn't come loose with vibration. The holes on the brackets are also sized for #10 machine screws. you will need the appropriate length for your installation. I also recommend using Stainless Steel screws for any marine application. Installation can vary to your preference. I chose to install the bracket at an angle to align with the seat back rail and provide a more up and down orientation of the seat back. Others have installed more level and at different positions to get different angles of the seat back. I've included different photos of different installations.
