The swing arm, initially referred to as a swing fork or pivoted fork, serves as the central element of the rear suspension on most contemporary motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). Functioning to securely fasten the rear axle whilst pivoting vertically, this component facilitates the absorption of road bumps through the suspension system.
