Made by Joseph Costa and Jeremy Okenquist The ABS Swimbait Mold is a tool for fishing that allows the user to make their own fishing baits. The aforementioned tool is entirely constructed from HATCHBOX White ABS, printed on the MONOPRICE Maker Select Plus and sliced with Cura. Printed at two hundred and thirty degrees celsius with a bed temp of eighty celsius at 60 mm/s at a layer high of six hundredths of a millimeter the SwimBait mold is a great addition to any serious fisherman/ women’s fishing arsenal. The mold has the conservationist in mind as the soft plastics meant for the mold can be one’s old plastics that they can melt down and pour into the mold for further use! The lure that comes out of the mold at the end of the process is a swimbait. This means that the lure is supposed to imitate a fish swimming through the water as the fisher reels the bait back towards themselves. But in order for the fisher to even cast, they need to make a lure first, which is done by sliding the two halves of the bait together using the rail system ( the two bars raised above the male side of the mold), then inserting the two bar holders into their appropriate spot and finally putting in the bar that keeps the mold from coming apart. This locking system ensures that the mold will not come apart during the pour to keep a consistency in each and every bait made using the mold.
