Swiffer WetJet handle
thingiverse
Human: Created a custom handle for a Swiffer WetJet, replacing the original due to its incompatibility with reusing the old switch and other available handles. These alternatives were either excessively large or overly complicated, making them impractical. Designed the Simple Metal handle to meet specific print constraints, printing at 5.9" in length. Simplified the design to minimize intricacy and ensure easy printability. Noted that the bolts running through the aluminum shaft imposed excessive stress on the handle, prompting a modification. Epoxied the handle directly onto the shaft to alleviate this issue. Additionally, secured the cap within the handle using epoxy, which proved effective even after heating it with a hairdryer to achieve a soft, press-fit seal. Provided SLDPRT files for modification, specifically targeting the switch hole, allowing users to customize and optimize the design as needed. Utilized an existing switch from an old toy or device as a substitute, ensuring compatibility and functionality within the new handle design.
