This is the aftermath of experimenting with sweeps, helixes and splines. Print it with the rectangular base facing downwards, without any supports. The sphere in the middle already has a support that needs to be removed after printing. The overall dimensions are roughly 18x18x18mm. Never seen an STL file as large as 24MB for a part smaller than a cubic inch before...
