1/100 scale The Stridsvagn 103, also known as the S-Tank, was a Swedish post-war main battle tank that defied conventional design norms with its turretless configuration and fixed gun system. By engaging the tracks, operators could traverse the gun, while adjusting the hull suspension allowed for elevation. This unique approach to gun laying, although unconventional, solidified the Strv 103's status as a full-fledged tank, aligning it with other contemporary Swedish doctrine main battle tanks in terms of designated combat roles. The Strv 103 remains the only main battle tank and any type of tank since World War II era to forego the use of a turret. Developed and manufactured in Sweden during the 1950s, the Strv 103 marked a significant milestone as the first main battle tank to incorporate a turbine engine. This innovative power source enabled the creation of an ultra-low-profile design with a strong emphasis on defense and enhanced crew protection levels. The Strv 103 played a crucial role in Swedish armored forces from the 1960s through part of the 1990s. A Sketchup file has been added for anyone interested in remixing this design, although some printing issues may arise due to extremely fine details.
