Swedish M42 KP-bil White Elephant
thingiverse
This is a 3D Builder project to print a 1/56 (28mm) model of the Swedish M-42 (KP-bil) APC. This vehicle was an early APC on a truck project and had a life span extending into Cold War Africa. It was dubbed the “white Elephant” in UN service. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KP-bil There are 3 view drawings available: https://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/tanks/tanks-t/72723/view/tgb_m_42/ and an interesting model build at: http://www.plasticwarfare.se/2011/01/african-white-elephant-swedish-armoured-truck-in-the-congo/ The model was created in 3D Builder. Only the wheels were lifted from Thingiverse (sorry I don’t recall, I think Bergman or Tiger Ace? But thanks to whoever created them.) I think I am hitting the limitations of 3D Builder. If I were to do some upgrades I would look at the thickness and for voids in the cargo doors, the vision ports and the lower right back corner. I printed with a raft to get better supports (touching the build plate and set at 45 degrees.) and to print the front window shutters. I find the PLA glues well with ‘dollar store’ super glue. You may also want to make the gun tub a bit larger. I also printed several for 15mm (1/100) gaming.
