Making a Scale Model of My Childhood Home. The Question Becomes: How to Bring it to Life. It all started when I found myself in need of creating a scale model of my childhood home - not just any house, but the one I grew up in and where my parents still reside. So I went straight to the source, searching high and low for the original blueprints which have been preserved meticulously for more than a century. Luck was on my side as I managed to get my hands on them and scanned them into my CAD program. The task at hand now was to translate these old plans into a realistic model of the house in precise detail - no small feat, especially given its unique charm that only grows more captivating with age. Working with CAD proved to be an enlightening experience as it not only allowed me to get close to the scale I wanted (1:87) but also made every tweak and adjustment surprisingly manageable.
