SWEDISH BIRD HOUSE
thingiverse
This is a bird house designed to look like a traditional Swedish cottage with a small front porch. You can decide if you want to print the house shell as one piece: gehaeuse_v2, or you can print the house shell in 3 parts: Floor - boden_v2, Sidewall 1 - fasssade_01, and Sidewall 2 - fasssade_02_v2. There are also two mounting plates for the house available: montageleiste for screw mounting (M6 or similar), and montageleiste_2 for zip tie, wire or string mounting. What you need: Patience (My printing time was ~100h), Super Glue, a drinking straw (5mm Outer Diameter) for the roof gutter, a M6 Screw and nut or something similar to mount the birdhouse to the mounting bracket, 4 M5 Nuts and 4 Screws for the detachable roof. I have also used black nail polish and painted the surface for the window and door opening black before gluing the parts to the house. Please have a look here for different optimal birdhouse hole sizes: https://www.thespruce.com/bird-house-hole-sizes-386641, http://www.vogelhaus-nistkasten.de/nistkaesten/einflugloch-nistkasten/ (For german birds). UPDATE: There is a new assembly for the birdhouse hole. You can easily change the hole size for a specific bird type e.g. with the Microsoft 3D Builder by using SCREW: einflugring_gewinde and NUT: einflugring_mutter.
