Swarf Scoop for HAAS CNC
thingiverse
This is a hand tool designed to complement CNC machines. A swarf scoop, roughly one liter in capacity, has been created to fit a HAAS MILL, allowing users to efficiently remove swarf or chips from the machine's bottom. The scoop fits seamlessly into the chip collection area. Two variations are available: one with drain holes and another without. The handle is a separate component, threaded metric M6 x 1.0, and secured with M6 cap head screws. Users may need to clear out threads using a tap before assembling the bolt. A matching paddle has also been designed to aid in pushing swarf into the scoop. The paddle consists of two parts that require bolting together using metric M6 bolts. Please note: Due to misaligned bolt holes, users will need to drill them out and secure the parts with nuts until a revision is uploaded. To print the scoop effectively, place it on its back during printing, eliminating the need for supports. Printing the handle vertically, as shown in the Thingiverse preview, is also recommended. This swarf scoop was printed using 0.3mm layer thickness, 50% infill, and five perimeters with PETG filament. Adjust printer settings to optimize strength. Thanks - John
