This model has 9 times horizontal exaggeration - making the areas of higher elevation appear closer together than they really are. The goal was to provide better visibility into the layout of the terrain and the locations of notable features. Slopes will look flatter in the model. I would also note that I have been able to verify this model against on-site data and imagery, but it's still just an interpretation based on available satellite elevation data and images. Use it as a starting point for planning and exploring, and visit the site in-person to get a more accurate sense of the terrain.
