"Swamp cooler" style air conditioner
thingiverse
This device uses evaporative cooling to turn hot, dry air into cooler, more humid air. The inner chamber contains a serpentine series of basins, each holding a wide shallow portion of water. As air flows over the water, evaporation causes heat to be drawn from the air. Requires: - 1x 90mm case fan (normally used for a desktop computer case) - 4x screws to attach the case fan to the fan duct - Power supply suitable for the case fan - 1x switch How to use: 1) Remove the fan duct. 2) Holding the body piece level, pour water into the top of the body. 3) Keep pouring until water runs out from the drain hole at the bottom of the unit. 4) Put the fan duct back into the body. 5) Turn the fan on. For more cooling power, use the chainable body: this allows one "body" to be plugged into another, multiplying the surface area of the water.
