In the year 1802, the Assmann family from Zdoňov had a statue of St. Wenceslas erected near Křížový vrch by a road. A century later, it was so weathered that it could not be repaired; besides, someone damaged the head in 1934/35. The Society for Foreign Tourism entrusted Emil Schwantner with creating a new statue. He chose sandstone from Augusta Ringel's quarry in Libná, which he had already worked on several previous orders. The base of the statue was provided by the Lower Adršpach cement plant. A German inscription on the pedestal reads: "In honor of the holy martyr Wenceslas erected 1802 by Wenzel and Barbara Assmann. Created anew in 1937 by Karola and Konstantin Nadherny-Borutin and the Society for Foreign Tourism." The Assmann family, Wezel and Barbara, had a statue of St. Wenceslas erected in their honor near Křížový vrch in 1802. In 1937, Karola and Konstantin Nadherný from Borutín and the Society for Foreign Tourism had it newly created. (From the book Adršpašsko)
