The SV-98 (Snaiperskaya Vintovka Model 1998) is a Russian bolt-action sniper rifle, designed for use in combat during operations in Chechnya. A model was created specifically to simulate the SV-98 in various games, particularly in first person shooters. It can also be used in real-time rendering 3D applications. To prevent errors from automatic triangulation inside game engines, the model underwent manual triangulation. High-quality renders were made using Marmoset Toolbag 3. Detailed normals and ambient occlusion maps were created by baking data from a high-poly model. This approach enables low-poly models to look identical to their high-poly counterparts. The SV-98 package includes albedo, roughness, metal, ambient occlusion, and normal maps, all at a size of 4096x4096 in TGA format. Additionally, the scope comes with its own set of albedo, roughness, metal, ambient occlusion, and normal maps, at a size of 2048x2048 also in TGA format. The SV-98 model consists of 4686 polygons, while the scope model is made up of 5992 polygons. To properly display normals maps, you may need to invert the green channel, although this step can be skipped depending on specific requirements and applications.
