Suzuki iPhone Mount
thingiverse
As you can tell, I'm quite fond of accessorizing my vehicles, and this mount is perfect for holding your iPhone 6s Plus or iPhone 6 Plus in place. It mounts your device out of the way, yet remains easily visible, and high enough to clear even the bulky factory key as shown in one of the pictures. The original design had a much thicker base with a recessed stem mount, but after building it, I realized that the thick base wasn't necessary and was just a waste of build material. For fitment, slide the bolt through the top of the unit (the head will recess to protect your phone), then slide the stem beneath, and finally use a small piece of rubber hose and a nut. As you tighten the screw, the nut will grab the rubber hose and start to compress it, securing the motorcycle stem mount. Additional Materials: • Rubber Hose - approximately 12 mm in diameter and only about 12 mm long. I found mine randomly in a drawer, so it was free! • Bolt and nut - I don't know what size hose you'll be using, so take the mount and rubber hose to a hardware store and try some on. Make sure not to get a thread lock nut! This design only works if the nut can move freely without a wrench. I've tested this design on my Hayabusa, which is lowered and has thin tires due to custom wheels, but it hasn't vibrated loose, and neither will yours. Since most Suzuki bikes have the same neck setup, it should fit many different models. I highly recommend printing just the iPhone stem first and measuring before printing the entire thing to ensure a proper fit. Tested on: • 2007 Suzuki Hayabusa • 2010 Suzuki Hayabusa • 2005 Suzuki GSXR 600 Print Settings: • Printer Brand: RepRap • Printer: Prusa i3 • Rafts: No • Supports: Yes • Resolution: 0.2 • Infill: 35% • Notes: FYI, I built it with the following settings/parts and this unit came out very strong and decent in detail. Tip: 0.4mm Bed: 75 celcius Hot Tip: 230 celcius Material: ABS (chinese ebay) iPhone Case: Basic leather case from the Apple Store, also worked with a couple cheap ebay cases, and a cool Minion case. I tried to upload the 123d file but thingiverse doesn't accept those files yet. I'm an iPhone developer, so I only have iPhones to test it with, but I'd love to hear if anyone has a different phone that fits. Post-Printing: This mount fits snugly
