Suzuki DL1000 Windscreen Angle Adjuster Bushing/Spacer

If you own one of these bikes with a standard or upgraded windscreen installed using the factory mount, you may experience some helmet buffeting. The buffeting I encounter is so intense that my vision becomes blurry. All it took was adjusting the angle of the windscreen to alleviate the problem entirely, at least for me. The level of buffeting depends on factors like rider height, seat placement, windscreen design, etc., which means these spacers might not be effective for everyone. I discovered that using these spacers is significantly cheaper than purchasing a Madstad or similar bracket that would end up being static after setup, as was the case with my previous 10-year-old windscreen. My DL model bike is a 2005 vintage, equipped with a Vstream windscreen. This design is incredibly straightforward; even beginners can follow along without difficulties. The attached Sketchup file offers additional clarity for anyone who needs it. For securing the lower section, I used metal washers and thick rubber ones sourced from Lowes in combination with 50mm bolts. There's an important caveat to note: the bracket cannot be positioned at its lowest setting as the fairing obstructs the forward extension of the lower mount, restricting usage. However, you can still take advantage of the top three mounting positions. In my experience, repositioning necessitated giving up on using the steering lock. To rectify this issue, I obtained mirror extenders from adventuretech.biz, which turned out to be a great decision, providing me with enhanced visibility at the rear.
