Suspension Arms & Bumper For Tamiya M01 Chassis
thingiverse
My old Tamiya M01 Mini Cooper has received quite a lot of damage over the years. The front bumper had snapped clean off and the suspension arms and steering was all loose and floppy. So, I decided to give it a whole new set! Instead of just reproducing what used to be there I took the opportunity to raise the shock sprint above the steering arms to give more travel and leverage. The original design with the shock slung low always resulted in the chassis rubbing on the floor, even when it was new. As I'd snapped the bumper off I also created two new mounting points from the part that hinges the lower arms onto the main chassis. This part is optional if your bumpers are still intact. Another optional part is the washer for the steering pivot points. The original design had little caps with screws but those had cracked and no longer held the steering rigged. The washers work much better with a standard body clip to keep them in place. I also put a metal washer underneath to reduce wear but this is probably not necessary. All blender files are included so you can tweak if desired. On thing that I found was the screws that come with new shocks are sometimes different sizes so you may need to tweak the size of the mounting holes.
