Sushi Go Party! Insert

Update: 10/9/2018 A significant update has been implemented. The existing design has been rebranded as "unsleeved_promos". Upon inspection, there is sufficient space to store the promos currently available in the insert. If you have already downloaded the file, it will function seamlessly for both promos and unsleeved cards. There is now a split version of the unsleeved insert available for printers with smaller build platforms. Print the left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) sides separately, then assemble them as desired, or leave them loose in the box. Following consultation with BoardGameGeek regarding sleeves that fit Sushi Go cards, there is now a sleeved card version that also supports the promos. This design should accommodate sleeves up to 62 mm by 93 mm. Look for the "sleeved_promos" file. A split version of the "sleeved_promos" insert has been created for smaller printers. Print the LH and RH sides separately, then assemble them as desired, or leave them loose in the box. After purchasing Sushi Go Party!, we began taking it to various locations to play with others. I quickly discovered that the stock insert was inadequate, as it failed to keep the cards in their designated slots. This resulted in a tedious process of sorting everything out once we arrived at our destination. I decided to create a new insert that would securely hold all the cards in place during transport, eliminating the need for repeated sorting. I also wanted to provide a convenient location to store the pawns during transport. The design was created using Inventor software and went through the development process efficiently. I even included labels to indicate where each card should be placed. A sample print was produced to test the fit with cards and pawns, revealing the need for minor adjustments: Making the pawn slots larger Adding handles to facilitate lifting the insert out of its container Lowering the card slots to accommodate the board and manual Widening the slots to enable the cards to angle slightly more Adding a cutout on the bottom to reduce material usage After implementing these modifications, the final design was sent to the printer. I am extremely pleased with the outcome. The insert fits perfectly, and the cards no longer fall out of their designated slots. I no longer need to sort them, which has significantly streamlined our gameplay experience. I may consider making improvements to the pawn-securing mechanism in the future, but for now, it's time to enjoy some Sushi Go Party!
