In Challenge #3 of Fathom Make's Unmakeable contest, a Surveyor won't leave home without the SurveyPro. This innovative device features six GoPro Hero 4 cameras arranged in a dome formation, with one camera pointing downwards. The overlapping field of view ensures that any point below the drone will be visible in at least three images. Photogrammetry can then be used to develop a detailed 3D point cloud of the landscape or construction site. By flipping the SurveyPro and using five cameras horizontally, the device can create photosphere for interior spaces. This feature is particularly useful for building managers and owners. The SurveyPro also captures progress photosphere at the end of each construction day to document the building's progress over time. Its optimized topology structure reduces manufacturing material, as it uses support material only where necessary. It is 3D printed using a Polyjet printer, which enables internal supports that would be difficult with traditional methods. The primary structure is made of ABS Shore 85, while the camera strap joints are made of flexible ABS Shore 40.
