Surrender Peathouse Mill Complex Surrenders. The monument includes remains of the lead smelt mill and flue, the fuel store adjacent to it and slag crushing works, plus parts of a water management system. It lies in two protected areas. One area is situated on a terrace at the north bank of Mill Gill and contains remnants of the mill complex, while the other area is 300m northeast and contains a dam associated with the water management system. The current mill structures date back to 1839 and were built on the site of two earlier mills known as Low Mills.
