Surprise Egg Crackable 3D Print model

I just wish I'd snapped some pictures of these projects as they took shape - unfortunately, all I have is video footage. But trust me, they work! This whole thing started with Astroprint's model, and I wanted to create a design that would fail in a very specific way - not because the slicer wasn't doing its job, but because there simply was no object to work with. And, let's be honest, I also wanted to see my logo proudly displayed on it. After all, humility isn't really my thing. So here's how you can make these models for yourself: First, bring your egg and the hidden object into your preferred slicer software. Next, position both objects at the same X and Y coordinates so they overlap perfectly. Now, give the hidden object a tiny boost in the Z axis - just 2mm plus the layer thickness of your printer. If you're printing with 0.2mm layers, that's 2.2mm off the build plate; if you're using 0.1mm layers, it'll be 2.1mm. Once you've got all that set up, just hit print and enjoy the show! If you find the hidden objects a bit too stubborn to remove, try giving them an extra layer height boost in the Z axis.
