UPDATED to V2: Enhanced for Greater Durability, Now Compatible with Single-Extruder Printers. Inspired by Rubber Band Powered Surprise Butterflies That Fly Out When People Open Cards, Books, or Packages, I Set Out to Create 3D Printable Versions of These Amusing Toys. Check out the Video in Action Here: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/hgmtpw/i_made_some_prank_butterflies/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share Required Materials: * A Lighter * Rubber Band * Super Glue To Build Your Own 3D Printable Butterflies: 1. Attach the Hub to the Fuselage Using Super Glue and Let It Dry Completely. 2. CAREFULLY Use a Lighter to Soften the Wing Arms on the Rotor, Then Twist Them Slightly to Create a Propeller-Like Effect. 3. Install the Rotor into the Hub and Secure the Rubber Band onto the Hooks. 4. Clean Up Any Excess Material So the Rotor Spins Freely. If Necessary, Spin the Rotor Inside the Hub for a Few Rounds to Wear It In and Improve Performance. Note: For Best Results, Ensure the Wings Are Printed at 0.2mm Thick or Less. Different Slicers May Struggle with Single-Layer Parts, So Be Prepared to Tinker with Settings. In Cura, Try Setting Initial Layer Height to 0.24mm for Optimal Prints. To Print the Multicolor Version: 1. Slice and Print "multicolor_part_1". 2. Swap Filament. 3. Slice and Print "multicolor_part_2".
