This clip functions exactly like a ladder lock, commonly used on school bags to tighten the straps securely. Its design makes it compatible with face masks that cannot be secured using rubber bands. During the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, medical professionals are facing shortages of essential medical supplies and must reuse medical face masks frequently. Some of these reused masks do not utilize rubber bands, rendering "Surgical Face Mask Ear Protectors" less effective in securing a snug fit. Medical staff who wear these masks risk injury each time they must adjust the straps to achieve a tighter seal, prompting my creation of this lock. This lock ensures that the straps remain securely in place and can be easily adjusted by simply pulling the strap tighter when desired.
