The innovative loop zipper design creates secure attachment points at varying lengths to firmly anchor surgical mask elastic straps onto this adaptable PPE device. The same flexible zipper design enables the strap to easily conform to the contours of the head with reduced strain. An open mid section provides a pleasant feel in multiple positions, including both upper and lower areas of the head. This lightweight design may appear delicate but is remarkably flexible. In my testing, I found this design performed as well as existing full strap designs on GrabCAD and other platforms. A key benefit of the open and lightweight design is that it offers increased comfort by being less intrusive to the user. My test settings for PLA printing included:.5 mm nozzle temperature, .35 layer height, make all perimeters with no infill, 230C nozzle, and 70C bed. Layer speeds were set at 20mm/s and 70mm/s respectively.
