Surgical Mask Sealer
thingiverse
I came across an article that showcased how engineers from MIT and Apple demonstrated a simple yet effective way to enhance surgical masks by adding just three rubber bands. This got me thinking about repurposing a pre-existing facemask design to improve the fit of surgical masks. I stumbled upon a mask design online at Rowan University's Engineering Research Center, which I adapted for my purposes. By removing the front panel, I created a makeshift adapter that could be attached to the back of the surgical mask. When printed with PLA plastic, this adapter can be easily shaped by submerging it in hot water or pinching the nose area for a more comfortable fit.
