Surgical Mask Frame

***Surgical Mask Frame*** Surgical masks are widely available but offer only minimal protection against airborne pathogens. One significant issue is air seeping through the gaps around your nose, cheeks, and chin. To improve mask fit and close these gaps, use this frame to create a tighter seal. In addition to the basic STL model, two other variations are included: **Full** and **FullRings**. The Full version features slots at the top and bottom, allowing you to pass mask material through as needed. The FullRings version adds rings for attaching your own straps. To create a makeshift mask from cloth and elastic bands, use the FullRings model. This design is ideal for those who need a quick, makeshift solution. I experimented with various printing materials: PLA, PP, ABS, and PETG. While all worked well, PP proved too malleable and failed to provide a secure fit compared to the other options. Printing time for the basic model is approximately 9 minutes. By increasing print speed to 200%, you can reduce this time to just 6 minutes on my PRUSA MK3 printer. **UPDATE 31/05/2020:** A revised version with wider side slots is available here: [Surgical Mask Frame v2](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4414072). Stay safe!
