Surgical Mask Adjustable Ear Saver
thingiverse
UPDATE: Several new designs have been added. One of them now features straps with increased resistance, causing them to "click" into place and stay securely fastened until manually released. An additional style of strap retainer has also been implemented, which pulls the straps back by a single pull point. To use this feature, simply feed the strap through the hole and loop it around (a picture has been added). Initially, someone else's ear saver design was downloaded and printed with PLA, but unfortunately, they proved too brittle and kept breaking. Consequently, the original design was modified to better suit personal preferences by reducing the size of the pegs for the adjustable part, allowing them to fit more securely into place. A new material, TPU, was then used, resulting in improved results. A new piece has been created that fits behind the ear, taking the shape of a crescent moon and measuring 60mm in length, compared to the original's 40mm. This design keeps the mask straps further away from the ear and allows the piece to bend slightly when worn, eliminating any sharp corners that may come into contact with the skin, making it more comfortable.
