Surgical facemask ear saver
thingiverse
I spent 15 years working in fire/rescue, wearing PPE (personal protection equipment) as needed. Now, I wear masks for particulate and vapors during construction work. Masks that wrap around ears can be painful after long periods. This simple STL design repositions elastic bands away from the ears. This concept isn't new; what's different is this model uses head and neck shape to stay in place instead of sliding down and putting elastic back on ears. The thin design allows comfortable flex around the head, yet it's strong enough to hold elastic tension. Since it's reusable, medical facilities need equipment that can be cleaned. I recommend printing this in PETG due to its higher glass temperature than PLA. Ensure precise extrusion for secure attachment of hooks and thorough adhesion of lines. Wear this on the back of your head with the rounded part facing up and flat part resting against the nape. Use or disregard the middle hook as you see fit for earloop elastic.
