Surface Pro VESA 75x75 Mount With fan
thingiverse
This VESA mount is based on a design by ohliobohlio, which I adapted from his original model. After printing it out, I noticed that my surface was getting too hot during idle periods due to inadequate cooling. This was not an issue with Surface Pro 4 (i5/i7) and Surface Pro 2017 (i7) models, which feature active internal cooling systems. However, the passive cooling system in my device wasn't sufficient because of the narrow space between it and the mounting plate. To address this problem, I made some modifications to the original design. Specifically, I added a mount for an 80mm fan on the right side while maintaining a 5mm gap between the device and the mount for improved airflow. Here are the features of my updated VESA mount: * Any orientation is possible * All buttons and ports, including microSD cards, remain accessible * The front "lips" do not cover screen pixels (only the bezel) * A Type Cover can be attached without any issues * The ventilation holes in the top half are clear of obstructions * Minimal support material is required for the left side piece * Almost no support material is needed for the connecting piece * Active cooling has been added to fanless models * Support materials are necessary for the right side piece Please note that you need to open the kickstand for upside-down landscape mode. Also, when printing the left side pieces, make sure the outer (left) surface faces downwards. I would like to express my gratitude to ohliobohlio once again for sharing his design with the community.
