Surface Pro Docking Station Plug Cover
thingiverse
I'm completely obsessed with my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and the brand-new Docking Station. However, I have to admit that I absolutely detest the blindingly bright light on the plug, which makes it a major nuisance when I keep my computer in my bedroom at night. Every single evening before heading off to bed, I'm forced to cover up my laptop with a blanket just to block out the annoying glow. Being an enthusiastic new owner of a 3D printer, I figured this would be the perfect project for me to tackle and create something that would finally fix my issue. Since I didn't have access to any calipers, it took me a whopping four attempts before managing to get a decent fit. It's not perfect by any means, but it gets the job done! To achieve even better results, I highly recommend printing this design with a darker filament and maybe even adding a piece of duct tape inside where the light is to provide an extra layer of coverage. If you decide to give this a try, please be sure to share your experiences and any improvements you may have made!
