# Surface Pro 5 charge dock station
thingiverse
I was searching for a straightforward wall-mounted solution to charge my Microsoft Surface Pro and discovered one - the simple [Surface Pro 4 (and 5) wall docking station by pingstnet](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2773215). I adapted the very basic shape and appreciated the symmetrical design. This is not a re-creation in the technical sense, as I started from scratch - but I am going to tag it as such because the design shares similarities. I made some changes to better meet my requirements: 0. No screws are needed, making installation and removal extremely easy, with no damage to the wall! I use several velcro-style 3M command strips that hold the clips perfectly. 1. An easily removable power cord is included. I don't need to take the power plug with me often, but when I do, I want it to be simple to detach without needing a screwdriver. 2. A convenient way to check charge status is also implemented. I intentionally left some space at the end of the bracket where the charging plug goes so that the LED can be seen to confirm charge status. This has only been tested on the Surface Pro 5, but it should work with any other model that shares similar geometry. I'm not aware of which models have identical geometry, though.
