Surface-mount wall box for one coax F connector and one keystone jack
thingiverse
I created this to install on the wall where the TV is mounted. The coax cable was already clipped along the top of the baseboard, so I added an ethernet cable under the baseboard and dremeled a groove up the back side for it. Now both cables are routed into this box, providing a convenient cable outlet and network outlet in one place. This setup looks neater than having cables hanging off the baseboard. I purchased an F barrel coupler on eBay, which came with a nut and washer included. It fits perfectly into the hex socket inside the box, with the nut and washer securely attached to the outside. You can also find RJ-45 keystone jacks on eBay if you prefer those. The cutout for the keystone jack might be prone to sagging slightly, but my 3D printer can usually handle PLA bridges well. After printing, I had to file it slightly to ensure a smooth finish. The design for the keystone receiver is available on Thingiverse at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:548145. I attempted to add a honeycomb front surface, printed face-down, but made it too thin, and the slicer omitted it entirely. As a result, I ended up with a plain flat front surface instead. Since it was otherwise fine, I didn't bother reprinting, so I'm not sure how well the honeycomb design would have worked. You can comment out lines 113-114 if you'd rather omit it altogether.
