Surface Finish Calibration Test Shape
thingiverse
A calibration shape for curved surfaces issues offers quick print options with diverse surface finishes as an alternative to the standard 20 x 20 x 10 cube (update: Feb 7th, 2013). New Slic3r config files for Replicator 2 are available, but still requires use of ReplicatorG to load sliced gcode files and export as X3G. The creator has recently added a 340 micron profile for quick printing and a zero-fill option for Stretchlet Bracelets like Emmett's. Version 6 profiles have been tweaked for new 7.0 firmware, with detailed explanations provided for changes made. PayPal donations are graciously accepted. Instructions: Print, review, and calibrate using provided ReplicatorG profiles for 0.1 and 0.2 mm layer heights. Profiles can be installed on MakerWare for versions 6, 340 micron, and 340 zero-fill settings as well. Measure filament diameter under Print-O-Matic and adjust Skeinforge settings accordingly. Different print settings are provided with explanations for each. Additionally, custom MakerWare profiles can be used, but still require use of ReplicatorG to export X3G files from sliced gcode files. Slic3r can also be downloaded for OSX, Windows, and Linux-compatible slicing with fast infill printing options and easy hollow object creation like vases.
