Surface Book 2 and 3 15 - Vesa Mount

<p>This is still kind of a work in progress and just threw this together to provide some ideas for a Vesa mounted Surface Book 3.</p> <p>I have no idea how long it will hold up - this is not designed for heavy use and it does the job for what I need (a place to take advantage of the additional monitor).</p> <p>I really just wanted to get this out there as a concept for others to build off of since there wasn't anything really out there yet - I am sure someone can come up with something much better.</p> <p>This Works with both the Surface Book 2 and Surface Book 3 15 inch laptop since they are the same design.</p> <h3>Stuff you may need</h3> <p>You can find these on Amazon</p> <p>4 - M3 4mm x 4mm Knurls<br/> 4 - M3 16mm screws (or whatever length will work best with your mount)<br/> 4 - washers (optional)<br/> 4 - 1mm or 2mm silicone bumpers</p> <p>Vesa mount (original was built using a Wali pole mount purchased off Amazon)</p> <h3>Assembly</h3> <ol> <li>Print Vesa Mount Cover Plate </li> </ol> <ol> <li>Insert the 4 M3 4mm x 4mm knurls into the Vesa Plate Cover (look up how to insert knurls - heat, glue, insert, done).</li> </ol> <ol> <li>Lightly sand down the 4 plate cover holes where knurls are</li> </ol> <ol> <li>Print 2 or 4 Surface Cradles (there is just 1 .stl for each of the left cradles. To make cradles for the right side just copy and mirror in your slicer). If want a more secure fit print the adjustable top cradles).</li> </ol> <ol> <li>Make a sandwich - Fasten Cover Plate and 4 cradles to an existing Vesa mount. Insert the M3 16 screws with washers through the Vesa mount, cradle, and cover plate. </li> </ol> <ol> <li>Place silicon bumpers over holes to prevent the screws from scratching your laptop (thinner the better - otherwise you will push the laptop out).</li> </ol> <ol> <li><p>Configure.<br/> ### Configurations</p> <p>Vertical - Right bottom cradle down, Left bottom cradle to the left, Left-Top cradle to the left, Right-Top cradle to the right.</p> <p>Horizontal - 2 cradles down, 2 on top</p> <p>### Printing Notes</p> </li> </ol> <ul> <li>Used Inland PETG</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Printed the cradle holders on their sides no supports using .15mm quality, printed without brim, but would recommend one if your PETG has problems sticking - sides are thin.</li> </ul>
