Suppository Cast

Suppository Cast

thingiverse

This is my design for a suppository mold, with each batch consisting of 10 suppositories that have been modeled after commercial 1g suppositories. You can use this to create glycerin suppositories that are neither too small nor too large (such as those intended for babies), and make them bigger by scaling the models during slicing. I printed it in PLA, which works fine. After printing, I lightly sanded the surface to make it perfectly smooth and used some long M3 screws to keep it together tightly. A piece of tape at the bottom prevents any leaks. Online, you can find recipes for glycerin suppositories; what worked for me is a mix of: 70% glycerine 14-18% gelatin (more gelatin equals a lower melting point; use 14% in summer) The rest is water (so 12-16%) Dissolve the gelatin in water on low heat, add the mixture to the glycerine, put it into molds and then in the fridge until it solidifies (3/4h). Once solidified, disassemble the mold and place the suppositories in a fresh location.
