Why you need a Phone StandHands-Free Convenience: A phone stand allows you to use your device without having to hold it, freeing up your hands for other tasks. Whether you're watching videos, attending virtual meetings, or following a recipe, a phone stand provides a hands-free experience.Charging Friendly: Sometimes it gets annoying to hold your phone while charging. Phone stands usually allow you to comfortably charge your phone while it sits on the stand. Bedside Standby: Your can leave the stand on your bedside table next to your charger. This is the most convenient spot to put your phone while you sleep. I even own multiple of these in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, desk etc. So I have a stand everywhere I need it.Last Minute Present: Do you need a good, cheap, last minute present? Then, this is the ideal option. During the Christmas season, I just print a bunch of these to give to friends and family and it basically costs nothing. Why you need this Phone StandI couldn't find a nice phone stand on Thingiverse that fulfils these criteria:prints as one pieceprints supportless / no supports neededhas different viewing angles (here: 60° and 45°)leave space for a charging cablelooks ok (subjective)This design is my attempt to solve this.Printing NotesMake sure that it's placed correctly on the side (the triangle shape lays parallel to the printing plane)You shouldn't need support. The angle of the hooks that hold your phone are less steep than the recommend 45°. Some slicers might warn you about this, for example my PrusaSlicer did. But you can ignore the warning. The print should work fine.Happy Printing!CustomisationI included the OpenScad file if you want to remix the model or if you wanna customise for your phone. If you are new to OpenScad, it can render 3D-models from code. You can download the program here: https://openscad.org. Here are some ways for you to customise: Viewing AnglesChange the viewing angle on the right a_r = 45 or on the left a_l = 65 to render a new stand model with different angles.HooksIf your phone doesn't fit in the hooks update the phone dimensions d_p = [69, 136, 11]. The value that matters most is the last one in the list: the depth/thickness of your phone (here 11mm). This works great with an iPhone12 mini. If you update make sure to encount for your phone case too and add some tolerance.Charger LengthWith l_c = 50, I added 50mm of extra space under the hook, so that the stand can hold your phone in portrait mode while the charging cable is plugged in. If you want a smaller, more compact version, you can reduce this. But careful, your cable might bend.OverhangIf you are worried about your overhang not printing correctly without support, you can change the angle of overhang a_o = 30. Recommended is to use >45°, but in my experience 30° prints perfectly fine as well.
