This is a prototype for an optimized (torsionally stable) support structure.
It can be mounted on a snap fit open base or a closed hinge type base.
It can be embedded into wall structures for reinforcement.
It can be used as a lateral support or a lever between two press fit base parts.
Possible uses: Airplane wing strut, building support, earthquake stable support, lever, hinge part.
How I Designed This
Design
Modeled using Truspace 7.6 for printing on a Form1 or Afina
Design optimized in MeshMixer
Middle crossover is "half lapped" for improved strength without loss of torsional strength.
