SUPPORT FOR FLEXIBLE DENTAL FLOSS

SUPPORT FOR FLEXIBLE DENTAL FLOSS

thingiverse

This text describes a floss holder project created by the author some time ago. The holder was designed with simplicity in mind, using flexible plastic to easily attach the two ends of the floss. Despite initially creating the support manually, the author later redesigned it using their MakerBot printer. Unfortunately, they are currently unable to use the printer due to connection issues. The support has two options for holding the floss between the divided cable - one with a smooth surface and the other with ripples. The author is unsure which option works better. They encourage those who download the files to test the holder and share photos of their 3D prints on the Gallery Thinginverse. A modification was made to the support at the request of Stef, adding a button below the U-shaped portion for more efficient floss holding. However, the author found this suggestion impractical and instead implemented an alternative solution, described in detail within the text. After producing the STL files, users should carefully remove the temporary structure if using Makerware. The procedure to use the floss holder is illustrated in Illustration 2.
