Support bracket for finder scope

The flimsy finder scope mounting bracket of my 8-inch Newtonian telescope was simply inadequate and had never provided sufficient stability. However, the new bracket I installed significantly expands the telescope's footprint, ensuring that the finder scope is entirely secure. For this reason, it must be properly bonded to the telescope tube using adhesive, as the mounting screws alone cannot offer sufficient stability due to the thin metal walls of the telescope casing. This custom-designed bracket can easily be adapted for various dimensions via OpenSCAD. Print settings: The model was designed to stand upright with no need for support material. I printed it using PLA plastic. Following the test mount on my telescope, I determined that finding a suitable alignment point required me to permanently attach the bracket to the telescope tube. This process necessitated removal of the bracket to apply glue; I used a two-component epoxy resin for this purpose.
