A Roll Holder Revamp: A Solution for ABS Rolls Inside Printers Designing a filament roll holder specifically for use with an ABS roll inside the printer was a crucial step in addressing compatibility issues with the Raise 3D PRO2 printer. The challenge lay in accommodating rolls not manufactured by Raise3D on the side holder, which couldn't be closed. To overcome this limitation, the idea emerged to place the roll within the printer beneath the bed. This innovative approach has proven remarkably effective and versatile, allowing for use with any type of roll or material. The design utilizes a 42x8x20 bearing, ensuring smooth operation. However, it's essential to carefully monitor the print height to avoid extending below the top of the roll.
