Supernova - a cataclysmic cosmic event that rapidly unfolds when a star exhausts its final stages of life. It appears that as the outward force of the explosion propels some of the material into the interstellar void, the inward force compresses the remaining material into an incredibly dense stellar object such as a neutron star. In this 3D visualization, each layer of the expelled material was meticulously modeled in Blender v2.78 and the associated textures were painstakingly painted in GIMP 2.
