Supernatural Angel Blade

A rework from scratch of an Angel blade from supernatural.

I have previously published a version of the angel blade - thing:3119415 but was never happy with the hilt, it didn't match the TV show 100%

I have redone this blade using screenshots to try to get a more accurate blade. Unfortunately without hi def closeups of the blade from all angles which I have yet to find it is not an easy task and there seems to be a number of version used on the show with differences between the props.

I made this entirely in openscad and have included the scad file.

I have printed this version several times, some as the instructions below for a heavier weight model piece and others with just 2 perimeters and 15-20% infill. I cut in half just below the widest part so the hilt and blade are in one piece and the handle is attached. It can be sliced into smaller sections if needed for your printer. I have had no issue with the parts holding using CA.

I have printed with 0.1 layer height but this could be increased or reduced depending on your printer/desired quality.

Print using appropriate infill + perimeters depending on how you are going to use. If you want a piece straight of the printer that just needs joining then 15-20% infill + 3 perimeters should be fine.

For my prints I did:

For the handle I have printed with 0% infill and 2 perimeters.

For the blade I printed with 10% infill and 2 perimeters for the hilt and moved to 0% infill and 7 perimeters for the first 5mm of the blade then back to 2 perimeters for the rest of the blade. The 7 perimeters are to get hood adhesion on to the hilt.

I then filled both solid with herculite(type of plaster) by melting a small hole through the bottom of each, this made the entire model fully rigid and weighted much better for a model piece.

Print instructions

Category: Props Summary

A rework from scratch of an Angel blade from supernatural.

I have previously published a version of the angel blade - thing:3119415 but was never happy with the hilt, it didn't match the TV show 100%

I have redone this blade using screenshots to try to get a more accurate blade.
