Supermicro SYS-E300-A9 Noctua NF-A4x20 Adapter
thingiverse
I wanted to replace the already pretty quiet but still server fans of my Supermicro SYS-E300-9A with some more quieter Noctua NF-A4x20 PWM fans. Unfortunately, the original screws and the screws that come with the fans both don't fit to the assembly. Also the Noctua fans are 8mm thinner than the original fans, which leaves a gap between the case and the fans, which is not optimal for airflow.Just stick the Noctua screws into the adapter, use a small screwdriver (I had a good experience with an iFixit screwdriver) to go through the hole and screw the adapter onto the Noctua fans. Then use the original screws of the Supermicro case to screw on the adapter. The adapter will probably fit all Supermicro Servers that use the CSE-E300 case.
