Print instructions. It's a remarkably simple model to print. I've grouped the STLs by color for your convenience. If you prefer, you can print Superman in one solid color and paint it by hand afterwards, as I did with his face and hands to achieve a more lifelike skin tone. The included files are: 1. White Parts (face, hands) 2. Blue Parts 3. Red Parts 4. Hair - Print this with black filament. 5. Connectors: cylinders and two squares that join the parts together. Depending on your printer and materials, you may need to sand the connectors slightly for a flawless fit. 6. Plastic Cape - This part is notoriously tricky to print due to its intricate geometry. I used the pre-defined orientation in the STL file, so try positioning it 3mm above the build plate with support material underneath. My successful print settings were: • 2mm pillar resolution • 30-degree max overhang angle • 30% support infill. 7. Superman Sign - You can either print this part in one color or change to yellow filament at a thickness of 0.4 mm, starting with red. As for the pants: You can also opt to print these in one solid color or switch filament colors at a height of 3.5 mm. Begin by printing with yellow filament before shifting to red. If you find it difficult to print Superman's back, you could always use a piece of fabric instead. Simply purchase an inexpensive cloth, cut it into the shape of Superman's cape and glue it onto the printed section. Printing slowly always yields the best results, as evidenced by my successful print with PLA at 195 degrees, 20% infill speed and 40mm/s printing velocity - no additional supports were needed for this build.
