My trusty 40mm 12V fan was struggling to keep up with the extruder motor's cooling needs on scorching hot days - our region is currently experiencing a heat wave, after all. Temperatures skyrocketed to 41C, and I knew something had to be done. To address this issue, I opted for a more powerful and larger CPU fan that runs at 5V. The included files feature a mounting bracket, grille, and an extension plug - a clever alternative to using cable ties, which can securely fasten the fan to the grille and bracket with M3 screws. The mounting bracket expertly angles the fan to cool both the side and top of the extruder motor, effectively doubling the area previously covered by the old fan. To power this new setup, I repurposed a 5V connection from an old iPhone 5V1A plug and USB cable. This convenient solution not only powers my CPU fan but also supports another fan that's tasked with cooling the chassis - you can find more information about that project on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:875471).
