I figured out these LED shop lights could make fantastic studio lighting if mounted to a light stand, so that's exactly what I did! They shine brighter than the expensive video lights I was using, making me incredibly happy. The conversion only needs one small printed part to ensure the light is securely attached to the tripod. This print is designed specifically for this Mini Ball Mount by Colorado Tripod Company, chosen for its outstanding quality-to-price ratio! Connect those using two 1/4-20 nuts and one 1/4-20 bolt (full thread, any length). Attach the tripod head to a light stand or standard 1/4-20 mount and you're ready to go! This should work for most shop lights and probably plenty of other objects as well...it just needs a sturdy surface that's thin enough to fit the tripod mount through and tighten a nut on the other end. I used Hykolity Shop Lights, and I would recommend them for their brightness, price, and 5-year warranty.
