Super Strong Ceiling Hook

Super Strong Ceiling Hook

thingiverse

A versatile and attractive hook suitable for numerous uses, including hanging bird feeders and other items. Designed to accommodate various screws found at home, such as #10 pan head or wood screws, the hook features a countersunk hole that conceals the screw head while guiding it into place. The original Ceiling Hook 1 design boasts symmetry but poses issues with overhangs in both orientations, resulting in poor print quality and difficulty inserting screws. It is displayed here for potential improvements to enhance its functionality. Ceiling Hook 2 is an asymmetrical design optimized for printing, minimizing overhangs by restricting them to printable angles. A loop offset allows easy screw insertion, although it still struggles with bridging defects and a weakness at the intersection of parts. To address these shortcomings, Ceiling Hook 3 adds reinforcement to the part's intersection, reverting to a circular base while maintaining its strength. Although minor issues persist with unsupported overhangs, this version is recommended until further improvements are made. Printing Settings: Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15 - 0.20 mm Infill: 100% or less with 4-5 shells Notes: Print the hook loop on the build plate, ensuring filament alignment with tension direction. Post-Printing: For ABS materials, follow up with an acetone bath to bond layers together, achieving impressive strength. Disclaimer: Not recommended for critical applications requiring safety. Avoid using as a mountain climbing or rappelling anchor. Keep out of reach from small children who might ingest it.
