Super Simple Spool Holder

Super Simple Spool Holder

My attempt at creating a simple spool holder has been ongoing, and I've finally found a design that meets my needs. With multiple spool sizes in use, I needed an adaptable spool holder that can accommodate all of them easily. To achieve this, I used some common 608zz bearings for the rolls and M3 screws and nuts. The other parts are just quick prints. I've been using these spool holders for a while now without any issues. They work perfectly. However, I do want to caution against using this spool holder if your filament tends to tangle up or becomes knotted. In such cases, it's best to secure the spool in some way to prevent damage to your printer. To assemble one set of these spool holders, you will need the following parts: * 4x M3x22 screws (or longer) * 4x M3 locknuts * 4x ball bearings 608 (often used for fidget spinners and inline skates) * Optional: some washers You'll also need to print out the following STL files: * 2x base.stl * 4x laufrad.stl (choose one of the three available versions: laufrad, laufrad_0.2_tol, or laufrad_0.4_tol) * 8x innenaufnahme.stl Update: On March 31, 2019, I added two more versions of the "laufrad" with bigger tolerances for the bearing. One version has a diameter of 22.2 mm and the other has a diameter of 22.4 mm. This way, you don't have to scale up the part in your slicer, just make sure that the bearing has a tight fit. Print Settings: * Printer: Prusa i3 MK2 * Rafts: Doesn't Matter * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.1 - 0.2 * Infill: 20% * Notes: Print resolution for each part is as follows: + laufrad.stl = 0.1 - 0.2 + innenaufnahme.stl = 0.1 + base.stl = 0.2
