Super Simple Flexy-Gimbal
thingiverse
This pitch and roll gimbal design originated from crezzee's "Super Simple Gimbal" idea on rcgroups. It features a unique configuration with 2x9g servos positioned behind the camera for a low-profile setup, perfect for attaching to a Spyda 500 Quadcopter. The gimbal allows for a 90-degree tilt, enabling direct downward viewing as seen in images. Flexible components are printed using FilaFlex elastic filament from Recreus, reducing frame vibrations and the "Jello" effect. Video demonstrations of first flights, camera stabilization with APM 2.5, and initial tests via TX are available. Print without support but remove tiny pieces of modelled support from the Bump Guard's attachment lugs. To remove a GoPro, use finger through hole in base to push upwards while stretching retaining strap rearwards. Choose between DeeJayEye arm and Crossfire arm plate versions for Spyda 500 attachment brackets. Consult rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1793759 for flight controller board settings and low-profile GoPro AV leads are recommended for live FPV use.
